That's why I order DVDs only four times a year, March, June, Fall, and Christmas. It usually takes me about three months to get through the DVDs I order anyway. This has served me fairly well.
I made my preorder list for June, and it is as follows:
King of the Hill 6 (which actually comes out on Tuesday)
Superman 3
Justice League 2
And since that was a little light, I threw in The New Spider-Man Animated Series (the one on MTV I've been meaning to buy but have just been holding off on) and X-Men Evolution Season One.
Now, I have two problems.
1) What's the deal with X-Men Evolution?! Season One is a collection of the "mini sets" or whatever you want to call them they released before, and now they're coming out with the complete third season, but what happened to the second season?! Those are still only in mini set form and not collected. There are 4 that make up season 2 and at $10 each (and I'm rounding that number down, mind you), that's a hefty price to pay. Will it ever be collected in a complete season?!
2) Animaniacs is coming out in late July and Darkwing Duck in late August. I guess I can put DW with the fall order, but what about Animaniacs? Should I delay that order until the fall? I am NOT delaying my June order until Animaniacs is released because I NEED me some Superman!!!
Maybe I'm just being too anal about all this. Hey, here's some good news. I absolutely love Dan Slott. His She-Hulk is great, I'm in love with his Thing (a joke done to death, I don't care), and Spider-Man/Human Torch: I'm With Stupid was one of the best Spider-Man interpretations I've read. I read his interview over at Comic Book Resources (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=7142) and he said this when they asked him his favorite comic book movie:
" 'Spider-Man 2' or the first 'Superman.' Though I don't think enough credit goes out to 'Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker: Uncut Version.' Seriously, that is the greatest Batman movie ever made. No joke. But you have to watch the uncut version. It makes all the difference."
Okay, I prefer Superman 2, but MAN, Dan Slott is awesome!
