Geeky Update

A few things have happened to me here and there, and I haven't had time to talk about it. So, well, here we go.

A couple weeks ago, I went on my first privately owned yacht. It was a 116' Azimut built last year. The captain is expecting a baby with the woman in our charter department, so they set that all up. It looked really impressive, hi-tech, fancy, and all that. I hope to go on more.

Last weekend, I went to Atlantic City with a co-worker, her husband (it was his birthday), and some friends. We only stayed over Saturday night (in the Tropicana), and it was cool. I'm not much of a gambler, but I haven't been to Atlantic City since I was a kid, and it's considerably different when you're an adult.

We had our office painted today, so I had to lock up after the them (John let them in this morning). After Tai Chi, I went over to the office and dropped off my stuff. I had to stay nearby to wait until they were finished, and I...went a little nuts. First I went to FAO Schwarz to check out the toys (the action figures weren't impressive at all), then I went to this candy store called Dylan's and got a frozen carmel drink thing (expensive, but good). I also went to the comic book store to get some Ultimate X-Men back issues I needed. Yeah, I know I went a little nuts, but I didn't care, I had to go to work on a Saturday, I should be allowed to have fun, and on such a nice day.

The painters finished at a pretty reasonable time, too. This guy did some painting for Kate Mulgrew and has a picture of her and her place on his website. Since John is a big Star Trek fan (he named his dog Seven), he's going to do him a favor and try to arrange a meeting. That would just be funny.
