Goals For 2006

All right, so that day is finally here, the day where I proclaim to the world (well, internet) my 2006 resolution. And yes, I take my New Years Resolutions very seriously (especially last year's).

I'm a self-proclaimed writer. I haven't gotten anything published that wasn't non-fiction newspaper reports. But I love writing fiction/fantasy/science fiction, what have you. I have two huge superhero universes (well, one is huge, the other is a good, manageable size) that I've written hundreds of stories for over the past 8 years or so. In college I took three creative writing classes and two screenwriting classes.

But I don't have much to show for myself. There's no way I'd show anyone those superhero stories. I have Seafarer, and I never got around to finishing my screenplay (in class we only had to write the first act, or 30 pages, and I didn't go beyond that).

So my goal is to make a portfolio of all my writing. Like, a portfolio I can present to people in the future when they ask for writing samples (because I want to be a writer in some form of entertainment media). I plan to finish the entire first arc of Seafarer, finish the screenplay, do some work on The Realm (which I'll probably mention later), and write a couple episodes for other projects I have swirling around in my head.
