Someday I'll Go Where There Ain't No Rain Or Snow

I really am through the looking glass. It wasn't that long ago when I had my last snow day (I had one in college, but my real last one was probably 5 or 6 years ago). They used to be fun because even if snow is coming, you'd prepare yourself to wake up at the usual time, hear your school is cancelled, go back to sleep and have the best, warmest 3 hours of sleep in your life.

Guess that's not how it works in the real world.

I'd known for a few days it was going to snow last night, but I had to go into work (my office doesn't close unless there's like a state thing). So I get up early this morning, shower, dress, then do some shoveling in the driveway. I drive very slowly to the parkway and make my way to work. It actually wasn't bad because I was one of the few idiots who still wanted to go to work.

I made it there before 8 o'clock, and only one other co-worker was there. Some called in and some showed up. It was sort of a lazy day, being Friday and not having everyone there. There wasn't a lot of enthusiasm about getting work done (but we did get things done). For lunch a bunch of us ordered pizza (I swear ordering pizza in an office is a lot like when you and your floor at college order, you have to make sure you accomodate for everyone).

The snow stopped around noon, so my drive home was fine. So now I have experience driving to work in the snow. Not something I'm eager to repeat.
