In terms of actors (both live action and voice), Superman and Batman seem to be caught in a strange Oedipal loop.
For those of us who watched the Drew Carey Show, we'll remember that Adrienne Barbeau, who played Catwoman on BTAS, also played Oswald's mom. Oswald, played by Deidrich Bader, is Batman on Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Also on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Bruce's mother is played by former live action Catwoman Julie Newmar (married to Adam West's Thomas Wayne).
I've never seen the movie One Fine Day, but it stars live action Batman George Clooney and live action Catwoman Michelle Pfeiffer. Clooney's daughter is played by Mae Whitman. Her? you may ask. Yes, the same her who debuted this year as Batgirl on Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Now, if you'll recall, Mae Whitman voiced a young Lois Lane on Superman: The Animated Series. For those of you who watched Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman know that Lois Lane was played by Teri Hatcher, who made an appearance this year on Smallville as Lois Lane's mother (meaning not only is Clark Kent's mother, Annette O'Toole who played Lana Lang in Superman III, a former Superman love interest, so is his future mother-in-law). Teri Hatcher also happens to be on a show called Desperate Housewives. Her daughter is played by Andrea Bowen.
The same Andrea Bowen who voices Talia on Batman: The Brave and the Bold! Too bad on that show she's not the mother of Damian. Hm, well, at least the previous Talia, Helen Slater, played both Supergirl (in Supergirl) and Lara-El on Smallville.
So I guess this means Batman, who is married to his mother, is also his own step-grandfather...or something. That's what happens when your universe has so many Crises. Wow, my head hurts. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
EDIT: So Phyllis Coates played Lois' mom on Lois and Clark. I guess that means it's a tradition for the previous TV Lois Lane to play the mother of the current one. That's cool. It'll be a while before Erica Durance will be able to play a grown woman's mother, though...
